Paneer Steak with Roasted Peppers

BM # 12   Day 6

Since a long time I had been wanting to try Paneer steak  and Paneer pie but wonder why kept post poning them. With paneer theme I had my chance to try both the recipes.I was not sure how the steak would turn out as I was using all fusion flavors to marinade.......Paneer Pie would naturally turn out great, nothing risky!!well....it went vice versa!!,,,the steak turned out super hit!!...and the pie just average...so I was told not to post that pie.(actually it was’nt that bad!!)..My son said," Ma you need to make the perfect one and then post." He is such a critic, when it comes to food, since he himself is a wonderful cook .Anyway, so here is the steak  served with sauted peppers which was relished by all .

400gms ..........paneer
1tbsp ..............ginger garlic paste
½ cup.............. hung curd
2tbsp ..............chopped onion
Few................. mint leaves
2tbsp ..............lemon zest
¼ tsp............... white pepper
¼ tsp............... black pepper
1tsp................. garam masala
1...................... fresh red chilly roughly chopped
Salt to taste
¼ cup............... all purpose flour for dusting.

Cut the paneer slice into a circle.
Apply salt on both sides
Mix all herbs and spices.
Marinade the paneer for 30 mins.
Heat a grill or non stich pan.
Dab the paneer into the flour.
Sprinkle sesame seeds.
Place on the pan/grill.
Roast both the sides.

1......................onion
1......................red capsicum
1......................yellow capsicum
5-6 ................. cloves garlic crushed roughly
Pinch sea salt
Pinch white pepper
Salt to taste
Heat oil .
Saute’ the diced onions and capsicums along with garlic.
Add salt and pepper.

Assembling
Spread the saute’d peppers.
Place the paneer .
Sprinkle some crushed roasted peanuts on the peppers.
Garnish with fresh red chilly.

It sure was a treat to eat this paneer, the flavors of mint and lemon zest dominated while the other flavors were infused. The roasted onions and peppers made a super combination.
